Good topic Dave, as a side note I have been thinking about this from the point of view of if we are the product of the Bible's god. In as much as we have natural desire's to procreate (have sex lol) and yet we have to do it under specific rules - ok we could say the Bible is a product of man and its him thats imposing these things on us against our nature, but it makes you think doesnt it.
As for changes to the design, well some of the waste products we produce might be dealt with a new way lol!

Thanks for posting dawg, that was a heart wrenching account, i'm so sorry that the WTS has split another union. Looking back with hindsite and reading this board you have probably realised that this may well have been inevitable, unfortunately when Jw's lead a double life you are fooled into thinking you can have a normal union with them, but if they get an attack of the guilts, your out on your ear. Dont be too hard on yourself, there are always things we can regret about out lives but as long as we learn from all we do then its not wasted. Give yourself time to work through this, and with your new 'voice' here you can vent some of your feelings. Hang in there and welcome

Thanks for posting these lady liberty. I used to ask an Elder why we couldnt research further back to the earliest Watchtowers, I think I even said it makes you wonder what they are hiding. Even though as a dub I had the mindset that changes were new light, I didnt realise how crazy some of the things they published were! I'm so glad I can come to a place like this and research and see things like this and not be fooled any longer.

hello everyone.. i'm an "active" jw and have been for...13 years but my faith in the jw org died about 5 years ago.. so, i've been doing the jw thing for 5 years now without believing in it.
i might be an ms soon, unfortunately.. i tried telling my parents about it but they said apostates are good with twisting words and whatnot.. they wouldn't even let me show them evidence of wt hypocrisy; however, my mother did say she found it odd that every once in a while, there's that publisher resolution of donating a certain amount a year.
there might be hope for her yet.
I can relate to how your family took to hearing your doubts, mine were the same causing me to bottle it up for a while longer. It sounds like your doing the right thing by making some plans before you jump ship. As far as the MS appointment goes there are two things you can do 1) fluctuate on your service (ministry, attendance, answering, appearance etc) 2) Say no when they ask if you want to be appointed - this is hard due to the pressure of the situation but can be done if you pre plan to do so. I wish you all the best at discovering your new life and hope the family can accept your choice, oh and welcome to the forum!

as many of you know, we were asked to remove an article from our website the other day after pressure on the site admin from jws.
we had thought of rewriting it, and including references, then putting it back on the site.. however, we aren't going to do that now.
instead, trev has expanded the article somewhat, and included examples, all of which ended up with the abusive jw concerned going to prison, and we are having 2000 copies printed initially, and distributed locally.
Nice web site, have many local people (jw's, ex jw's?) contacted you because of it?

I'm not the primary care giver to my children, but I appreciate my ex not making it hard for me to see them regularly. I see them a couple of times every week and they stay over every other weekend. Of all the regrets I have , the children are my biggest. To feel I let them down is something I always have to live with.

The timing couldn't have been better - their tract campaign about the end of false religion - they are just as condemned as the claims they make about the other religions. I'll be glad when the Beast turns to devour them.

we cannot even discern each others intentions or thoughts...how can someone claim to know god's?
If there is one thing that being a dub has tought me is that despite the best intentions, power corrupts. To use an ancient book and say you know its meaning is the claim of all religions, and by their knowing it you have to go to them to gain understanding. There are some good thoughts and messages in the Bible and there are some truly horific things written in it too.
